Unified Theater Shows “A Christmas Carol”

Alisa Kovaleva & Nour Kreishan

Creek’s Unified Theater program held their annual performance on Thursday in the Fine Arts theater. This year, Unified students performed ‘A Christmas Carol,’ which tells the story of an elderly man who is visited by the ghosts of Christmas present, past, and future.

For the Unified program, the show is an opportunity to showcase the diverse talent students have, as well as provide a stage to actors who might not normally be able to perform.

“I’m very proud of every one of these people. They are all pouring their hearts out on stage in a really fun, collaborative way,” director Alex Burkhart said. “Our performance is very inclusive, so we’re celebrating all different types of people, including diverse abilities.”

Hi! My name is Alisa Kovaleva, and I'm a junior. This is my first year with the USJ and I am super excited to learn new skills with the team! I joined journalism because I've always loved photography, but I also wanted to put a greater purpose behind my photos. I'm also a big fan of live music, and I love working in our school theater.

Nour Kreishan, Video Editor
Hi! My name is Nour Kreishan and I am a junior at Creek. This is my second year at the USJ as well as my second year of being the Video Editor. I’ve always been passionate about writing and being highly opinionated, which is definitely welcomed at the USJ. I’m honored to be producing and editing videos as Video Editor and my goal is to explore different mediums for practicing journalism. Outside of school, I enjoy the art of cinematography and am probably watching movies. I look forward to every 8th period with our staff and our 2023-2024 year at the USJ!
