Creek’s wrestling team is often overlooked, as sports like football and basketball continue to dominate students’ conversations. But behind the rather quiet team is a rich history of state championships, tournament wins, and impressive amounts of drive, both from wrestlers and coaches.
This year, senior Jake Howell, a wrestler for Creek, placed second at state in his weight class. Howell’s teammate, Matthew Luhring also qualified for state, but was eliminated in the first round.
