My name is Annabelle Crouch and I am a senior at Creek. This is my second year on the USJ, and I joined journalism because I enjoy writing. I spent 3 years living in England and my passion is traveling. My dream destination is the Maldives. I’m so excited to be the sports editor this year!

But she also says teens can be discriminated against in the workplace. “There have been several instances where schedules have been changed last minute for me, or employers assume I can come in during non-school hours when they’re short staffed, just because I’m not in school,” she said.

In light of Biden’s debt forgiveness program, this year, some upperclassmen wonder if they will receive similar debt relief in the future. “My decision of going to college lies [in] how much money I have,” Junior Ikram Chichou said. “[There is] a higher opportunity that I will go to college if the student loan forgiveness continues. If not, then my life after high school has no plan.”

June 4: For the class of 2021, their senior year was filled with unanswered questions and graduation uncertainty as the previous class did not have the annual graduation every other CCHS graduating class received. A significant event in all high school graduates' lives is receiving their diploma, and with much relief the class of 2021 got their diplomas with a traditional ceremony. Sitting Ducks: On any given day, not all buses at Creek get utilized due to the nationwide driver shortage. Nine buses sit in the west parking lot before school ends. Hopefully some of these will be driven away within the hour; however, many won’t be, because there aren’t enough drivers to use them all. “We have 40 open routes across the district, which would be why some of those buses are sitting in the lot,” Thompson said.
