After a close game, the Bruins overtook No. 3 Overland High School 81-71.

It was a packed Friday night with Creek’s student section brimming with Bruins clad in jersey for “Jersey Out”.

For the majority of the game, the Blazers and the Bruins fought hard for the lead.

The Bruins played a relatively scrappy defense losing quite a bit of momentum to many Blazer rebounds, both offensively and defensively.

Senior Eojin Kim provided an iron defense despite Creek being the smaller of the two teams.

By the fourth quarter, Creek raged to the lead gaining 29 points.

Sophomore Julian Hammond scored 22 points, closely followed by Junior Sebastian Cole and Sophomore Myles Purchase with 21 points.

This is yet another indicator that the best is yet to come for Creek’s young basketball team as they have grown a lot this season.

The loss dropped Overland from No. 3 to No. 7 in the state.

Creek currently holds 24th in the state with an 8-7 record.
