What Happened: On November 9th, the Cherry Creek Bruins had a win or go home matchup against the Castle View Sabercats. In the second round of state playoffs, the Bruins knew that this could be the end of their season; however, the Bruins prevailed. Winning with a distinguishable margin of 27 points, the Bruins left the game with a strong confidence boost into next week’s third round state playoff match. The Bruins kept an extended margin throughout the entire game by scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. That was followed by a two touchdowns and a field goal in the second quarter. Then they were able to finish the second half with a touchdown and a field goal.

Key Player: Leading the pack with two touchdowns and 51 rushing yards, was junior running back Jayle Stacks. Fellow running back James Walker III, was close behind with one touchdown and 103 all purpose yards. Sophomore wide receiver Chase Penry led the Bruins with 8 receptions and 131 yards receiving yards.

Key moment:  Sophomore James Walker III caught a 29 yard reception touchdown to increase the first half lead by the Bruins.

Up next: On November 16, the Bruins take on the Ralston Valley Mustangs in the third round of state playoffs.
