Football Kicks Off Against Mullen

The varsity football team sits outside of the locker room, huddled together before their  first home game of the season. They have been working hard for weeks now, and they’re not worried about playing against Mullen on Friday.

“Mullen is not a bad team, but compared to Creek, they’re not as good at all,”  senior linebacker Luis Firo said.

With hard practices and conditioning every day after school, the team feels that they’re starting the season on the right foot. Firro even said that there’s something about this season that everyone is really excited about. “So many more people, like the teachers and even my dean, pulled me out of class to talk to me about it,” he said.

Senior Jaden Tripplett, who plays safety and running back, thinks the team is more like a family this year. “We’re strong on both sides of the ball,” he said. “We came all together, like brothers. We communicate more,” he said.

The first home football game for Creek is Friday, September 7 at 7 p.m. at the Stutler Bowl.
