Hi, my name is Lily, and I’m a junior. This will be my third year working on the USJ, and I’m thrilled to be the features editor this year! When I’m not reading or hanging out with my kitten, I love being with friends and family, playing the guitar or ukulele, and travelling. I joined journalism to not only find a voice for myself, but also discover other voices in the community. It doesn’t hurt that I absolutely love reading and writing.

A Strong Representative: Clark stands proudly on Qatari soil in front of a military exercise. This was one of the many exercises during Clark's deployment to the Middle East in 2019. Clark was asked (last minute) to fill the shoes as Qatar's representative to his general. He handled all of the logistics for the Marine Corps and worked in the U.S. Embassy in Doha (in the office of military cooperation). Clark was also able to explore the country culturally and even saw the World Cup being set up three years in advance. "It was really a great experience to be a more well rounded officer, and I learned so much about the Middle East," Clark said.

Sitting Ducks: On any given day, not all buses at Creek get utilized due to the nationwide driver shortage. Nine buses sit in the west parking lot before school ends. Hopefully some of these will be driven away within the hour; however, many won’t be, because there aren’t enough drivers to use them all. “We have 40 open routes across the district, which would be why some of those buses are sitting in the lot,” Thompson said.

Dec. 1: I was staring at my screen. It was the fifth time this song had come up in the past hour. I was tired of studying and spending the day looking through a tiny box. But, here I was - holding one in my hand. Music had been a really good thing for me lately.
