Venom has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters. Ever since seeing him in “Spider-Man 3” and watching him change from a villain to a hero made me wish every night for a symbiote to bond with me. So when I found out that “Venom: The Last Dance” was releasing, my skin was crawling with anticipation on whether or not it would be the best movie of all time.
Venom is about a news reporter named Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, who bonds with this alien called a symbiote, and is able to transform between his regular body and his symbiote, Venom’s body.
Throughout the series it was a struggle to tell if Venom was a good guy or a bad one. Yes he stopped so many villains, but his love for eating human heads made me question his morals. It isn’t hard to tell that he is a good guy deep down though, since he is always willing to put his life on the line to protect Eddie.
In the last movie, I was filled with excitement and joy the entire time. They introduced a new villain, the creator of the symbiotes who was trying to take Venom and Eddie, and on top of that the U.S government was trying to hunt down Eddie for the actions that took place in the second movie.
The entire movie itself was filled with humor and action, which was expected from an actor like Hardy. Near the end of the movie, it even showed the other alien symbiotes, which arrived on earth with Venom, bond with other humans and band together to fight against the minions of the creator of the symbiotes, which were chasing Eddie and Venom for the entire movie.
Although the movie was so exceptional, I do have some complaints. There were plot holes after plot holes, and it felt just a tad bit rushed. In the first movie, it said that the symbiotes were here to invade Earth and take it as their own, but in the third movie they came to Earth searching for a safe haven? And I understand that it’s the final and third movie of the series, but at least fans like me and my siblings were ready and willing to wait for as long as we needed to for a good plot, and a movie that didn’t feel as though they were trying to push us out of the theater as soon as possible.
That being said, I loved the movie so much, and I honestly consider it my favorite one in the entire Venom series. The acting, the thrill, the relationship between Venom and Eddie, it really felt like I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Even though the movie is called, “Venom: The Last Dance,” I don’t think it will be the last we see of the symbiotes because even though Venom was separated from Eddie and died along with the other symbiotes, there is one living symbiote who is bonded with a human, and the creator of the symbiotes is still out there.
I love Venom with all my heart, and even though he died I felt like it couldn’t have been a more perfect ending. If there is going to be another Venom related movie, you can count on it that I will shove all of my money down the drain to buy a ticket for the opening show.
