TEAM WORK: Boys Lacrosse has won 12 state titles, including last year.

The Boys Lacrosse team won the state title last season. Now they are looking for a repeat.

At Creek, when it comes to athletics, it may feel like championship or bust in every sport, but especially in lacrosse where the program has enjoyed great success. The team has won 12 State Titles in their history, and are looking for lucky number 13 this year.

Senior Scott Ransum believes that the team is more than talented and prepared for a playoff push in 2018.

“We have multiple people on the championship team last year, but also most people have played in big games before, so I believe we do have the experience,” Ransum said.

There are new faces and new talents on the team and they are still getting used to each other and how they play.

One new player is Sophomore Dante Orlando who transferred from Valor Christian High School to Creek this year.

“It’s been a pretty good transition actually,” Orlando said. “Everyone on the team was extremely welcoming, and we’re off to a very good start.”

The only thing in their way is themselves, and possibly their biggest competition, Regis Jesuit High School.

“Every team we play is very good and is always looking to push us, but if I were to pick one, probably Regis with all the battles we have against each other, there’s nothing better,” Ransum said.

Led by a group of college-bound seniors looking to make one last ride for a ring and underclassmen looking to leave their mark in the Cherry Creek history books, Creek is a force to be reckoned with.
