I’m a junior here at Creek and this is my second year at the USJ, and I’m excited to be working this year as our news editor. Outside of journalism I play the flute and march in Creek’s marching band, and I love studying subjects such as geography, economics and linguistics.

How are Colorado public schools funded? The process starts at the federal level, where public schools are allocated funds from the Department of Education, Agriculture, and others. Schools then receive funds from the state, and then the total amount is divided by district. The CCSD's budget sees only 5 percent of funding coming from the federal government. (All data from the Colorado Department of Education, 2022-23)
